We believe the Great Commission involves two major missions:
1. Worldwide evangelization
2. Making disciples of those who come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
What exactly is a New Testament disciple of Jesus Christ? The short answer is one who follows and learns from the Lord Jesus Christ. We at Apalache believe following our Lord in discipleship involves developing a personal, lifelong, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Discipleship requires yielding our entire being to the process of life transformation so that our character and personality become more and more Christ-like.
We understand the need for continual attention to spiritual growth and maturity. Our desire is to see our church family move from mere church membership to spiritual maturity, and on to ministry involvement; developing and using their spiritual gifts for the glory of God.
Discipleship Opportunities at Apalache:
Discipleship training at Apalache involves both study courses and opportunities for ministry involvement. Discipleship classes are offered from September thru May each year. Most classes are six to seven weeks in duration, and involve interactive participation. Also, we strive to offer topics that are a part of our larger vision to equip and prepare our disciples for ministry in the church, our community, and the world at large.
Throughout the year we provide opportunities for ministry involvement in our church, our community, and to the world through special national and international mission projects.
Mission trips both in the US and international have proven to be times of both spiritual enrichment for those who participate and a delightful harvest of precious souls who trust Christ as Lord and Savior.
